A youth was chopped to death by neighbor over land dispute at Gujarai village in sadar Upazila of the Moulvibazar district at around 8am on Friday .
The deceased was identified as Jila Miah,35, son of Nanu Miah in Gujarai village in Sadar Upazila of the Moulvibazar district.
Abdus Salek, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station said, neighbor Saimun swooped on Jila Miah chopped him with sharp weapons indiscriminately at about 8am when he was bargaining with him in a tea stall under the village over a piece of land.
Seriously injured Jila was admitted to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital. Then duty doctors declared to death.
Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Jila Miah might have been killed over land dispute, OC added.
Saimun arrested from the same village for involvement in the killing around 10am. Victim family filed murder case in this connection, he added.
