A man was burnt to death in a devastating fire at a hotel while he was sleeping in the early hours of yesterday in Housing crossing area on the Dinajpur-Gobindhaganj road of the district.
The victim was Ainul Haque, 18, an employee of the ‘Hotel Sultan’ and son of Abdul Khalek of Sheikhpura village under Sadar upazila.
Fire service sources said the fire originated from kitchen of the hotel and soon engulfed the adjoining shops around 5 am.
Being informed, a firefighting unit rushed to the spot and extinguished the flame after an hour of frantic efforts with the help of locals.
They also recovered the charred body of Ainul and handed over it to his family.
