A man was burnt to death in a fire that broke out at a slum in the capital’s Shajahanpur area early Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Shipon, 30, Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) official said.
Atiqul Islam, Duty Officer of the
Control Room of the FSCD, said “The fire broke out at the slum around 3.00am. On information, two fire-fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire around 4.20am.”
Later, the firefighters recovered the charred body of Shipon from a burnt house, he said.
The fire also burned down a part of a furniture shop adjacent to the house, the FSCD official said.
