Kotwali Police Station has arrested a professional snatcher Ahsan Ullah Prakash Sagar while he was trying to rob by identifying himself as police.
He was arrested on Friday with the help of locals from Nazir Ahmed Road, Kotwali police station.Arrested Ahsan Ullah Sagar is son of Oli Ullah of Sonapur Mohabbatpur area of Sadar upazila of Noakhali district. Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station (OC) Mohammad Mohsin told that a professional snatcher was arrested while trying to rob by identifying himself as police.
He said two people came to visit DC Hill on Friday morning. Ahsan Ullah Sagar, who identified himself as a police officer, said, there are allegations in the police station under the visitors name. They have to go to the police station. Sagar took them to Nazir Ahmed road from DC Hill by a auto rickshaw.
While sitting in the auto rickshaw, Sagar demanded Tk 25000 from them. He threatens them by telling that, if they don’t pay the money he will send them to jail.OC Mohammad Mohsin said when the CNG auto-rickshaw stopped at Nazir Ahmed Chowdhury road, victims got involved in argument with Sagar.
At that time the pedestrians came forward and introduced as the police. Sagar failed to show police ID card. In an attempt to escape, the patrol police arrested Sagar. However, one of his associates escaped. An operation is underway to arrest him. Ahsan Ullah Sagar is a professional fraudster and robber, said OC Mohsin.
