UNB, Dhaka :Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday expressed his utter unhappiness as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived in Bangladesh during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.Alluding to the bonhomie between BJP and Mamata’s Trinamool Congress as she heads to Bangladesh during Modi’s visit, Rahul also questioned her “friendship” with BJP,” according to Indian media.”When our (UPA) government was there, our PM wanted to go to Bangladesh. We spoke to her and requested her to go with us. She said no, ‘ekla chalo re’ (I will go alone). Now, Modiji is there, so no ‘ekla chalo re’. We will go together. Why is this happening? What is the friendship about? You must be knowing the reason,” Rahul told a rally in Kolkata. He also came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of trying to deflect attention away from the NDA government’s “unfulfilled promises.A day before Modi’s arrival here, Mamata reached Dhaka on Friday night to attend some official programmes with the Indian Prime Minister and witness the exchange of documents on Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) ratification between Bangladesh and India.Modi held a meeting with Mamata Banerjee at Hotel Sonargaon on Saturday afternoon before setting out for the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. As journalists approached while they were emerging from the meeting, both Modi and Mamata made a turnaround and just said ‘hello’ but did not make any comment.Earlier in the morning, Modi arrived here on a two-day visit to the neighbouring country. Mamata is scheduled to leave Bangladesh on Saturday night after attending the dinner hosted by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
