A Maldivian female student was found hanging at a female dormitory of Rajshahi Islami Bank Medical College Hospital here on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Raudha Athif, 20, a 2nd year student of MBBS and daughter of Mohammad Atif.
Quoting the dormitory authorities, Zillur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Shah Makhdum Police Station, said Raudha used to live in room no.-209 on the first floor of the dormitory. Noticing Raudha hanging from the ceiling through a window of the room, the hostel inmates informed it to the authorities.
Later, the body was recovered breaking open the door around 12 noon. Physicians present at the hostel pronounced her dead upon examination. On information, police recovered the body. Police suspected that Raudha committed suicide. Raudha boarded the dormitory on January 14 last year, said the OC.
