Malaysia reached the final of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football tournament beating Singapore by a lone goal in the first semifinal match on Thursday at the Sylhet District Stadium.
Malaysia will play the final match against the winner of the second semifinal match, which will be held between (Bangladesh Vs Thailand) on Sunday (February 8) at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, BFF website sources said.
In the 14th minute, Singapore goalkeeper Mohamed Rudy punched away a shot of Muhamad Faizat following a corner of Azawari. Kumaahran found the rebound but fired the ball over the bar.
Five minutes into the second half, a lobbed pass of Adam Nor created a great chance for Muhammad Syazwan who shot just wide off the post.
However, midfielder Kumaahran opened an account for Malaysia in the 50th minute, taking a throw from Syazwan, he drifted into the box and beat Rudy in the middle of the post.
Singapore midfielder Emmran bin Mazlan wasted a great chance in the 57th minute when he failed to connect a cross from just outside the six-yard of box.
