Maker Space’ inaugurated at American corner

Joel Reifman, Dhaka Chargé D’ Affaires of US Embassy, inaugurated the ‘Maker Space’ at American corner on Chittagong Independent University (CIU) campus on Wednesday afternoon.
Professor Dr Mahfuzul Hoque, Vice Chancellor of CIU, Rex Moser American Centre Director in Dhaka, a number of academicians and students were present during the inaugural ceremony.
Joel Reifman in his speech termed the 3D printer as window of future. It would help the science, engineering and mathematics lovers to gather experiences; he said adding that the American Centre has been working to facilitate education of Bangladeshi students at different institutions in USA.
There are over 6,500 Bangladeshi students who are studying for higher education in USA now, he added.
The ‘Maker Space’ will be a place to foster creativity of youths in Chittagong while it will also create interest in studying subjects like science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
