Maximum areas of Sylhet city are not under Close Circuit CC cameras. Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) declared to install CC camera to remove crime. The area that are under CC camera most of them are inactive or law quality.
It is learnt that SCCC establish 115 CC cameras. Of them are inactive. SCC source said to cover whole city by CC camera is expensive and it require time. But the project will implement phase by phase.
SMP Additional police commissioner (Media) MA Wahab said, CC camera help police. Police detect criminal easily by CC camera. Even by seeing the activity of criminal. police take action promtly. Many CC camera is now out of order.
Conscious citizen said at present CC camera is very important. It protect city and remove crime and criminal. Criminal fear CC camera. So people become safe. But as whole sylhet city is no under CC camera network. So the making crime without hesitation.
SCC Executive Engineer (Electric) M Ruhul Alam said we want more SCC Camera to cover whole Sylhet city. He said at present 250 CC camera require for main road and 3 for each word. He said if every commercial and residence take initiative to extablish CC camera than the city is under CC camera.
SCC Source said they establish 12 CC camera in chouhatta to Zindabazar. In Taltola Naiyorpul are 22 CC camera established. It is monitored from kotwali thana. In Sylhet court their are 32 CC camera. It has two monitor center one in district Judges room and another in bar library auditorium. In word no 6 total 32 CC camera established. In word no 19 and 15 the installation is under process.
