Maizbhandar Darbar on global welfare consciousness

The Islamic spiritual hub of Maizbhandar Darbar has called for revival of Sufi saints campaign to instill into people’s mind the lessons of love to negate the militancy in the name of religion.
The call came as the centre on the outskirts of the port city wrapped up a three-day programme on April 5 to mark the demise of leading spiritual saint of the past century Syed Golamur Rahman Maizbhandari.
The 81st annual holy Urs sharif of Baba Bhandari Syed Golamur Rahman was celebrated on April 5 last at Darbar sharif through bringingout candle procession within the darbar premises as arranged by Darbare Gousia Hadia Ahmed Rahaman Maizbandar under the auspices of the founder of Shahi Hadi Manzil Syed Ershad Ahmed Maizbandari with cordial patronization of Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizbandari .
 “The deviation from the real Islamic path shown by spiritual figures like him (Syed Golamur Rahman) is the main reason of the spread of militancy in the current age,” incumbent leader of the Maizbhandar Darbar Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizbandhari told the concluding prayers of the programme. Thousands of devoutsof Maizbandari Darbar participated the Mangalcheton (candlelight ) procession on the occasion. After the rally, a conference on global welfare consciousness was held with Syed Ershad Ahmed Maizbandari duly conducted by Moulana Nazrul Islam Asharafi .
The incumbent chief of Ishapur Darbar Sharif Syed Ataur Rahman Ishapuri graced the occasion as chief guest. Besides, Prof. Dr. Gyanbodhi Bikku of Chittagong University, incumbent darbar chief of Hazarat Buali Shah Kalandar (RA) Alhaj Salamatullah Khan, Secretary General of SAARC Human Rights Forum Moulana Md. Abed Ali were present in the conference as honourable guests.
Soliciting the global welfare and blessings of the Almighty Allah, Syed Ataur Rahman Ishapuri of Ishapur Darbar sharif conducted the Akheri munajat in the Bishwa Mangal Cheton (global welfare conference) , sources said.
The essence of the teachings of Syed Golamur Rahman and fellow Sufi saints was “universal love, harmony and humanity” .. The three-day congregation was featured by milad mahfils, zikrs, spiritual musical soirees and the concluding prayer.
Mentionable that descendant of Great Prophet Muhammad, Syed Ahmedullah established the Maizbhandar Sufi order as a spiritual hub in early 19th century.
The order took a new look in terms of spiritual pursuit during the time of his nephew,
Syed Golamur Rahman, also known as Baba Bhandari in the last century.
