The first ever Robot Football Tournament in the country has started at the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) this morning. Vice Chancellor (VC) of CUET Professor Dr Engineer Mohammed Rafiqul Alam has inaugurated the tournament as chief guest this morning.
Dr Rafiqul Alam said, “It is the first ever Robot Football Tournament in the country. The tournament will encourage the researchers and robot lovers for more research and arrangement on robot in future.” He also said the Robo Mechanics Association (RMA), an organization of robotic research at CUET, is doing a great job for future researchers.
Among others, Head of Mechanical Engineering Department Professor Dr Sajal Chandra Bonik, Head of Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department Professor Dr Jamal Uddin Ahamed, Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department Professor Dr Muhammed Shamsul Arefin also addressed the inaugural function as special guests.
A total of 32 teams of eight universities are taking part in the tournament. The tournament has started at Petroleum and Mining Engineering Building of CUET at 10 am on Friday morning.
