The maiden convocation of Comilla University (CoU) is going to be held at the central playground of the university today. President Abdul Hamid, also the chancellor of the university, will preside over the ceremony while Finance Minister AHM Mostafa Kamal will deliver the convocation speech.
Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury and University Grants Commission chairman Dr Kazi Shahidullah will attend the function as special guests.
A total of 2888 students will receive their bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the programme and of them, 14 will receive gold medals for their outstanding academic results.
“All preparation has already been completed to hold the convocation,” said Prof Emran Kabir Chowdhury.
He also added that adequate security measures have been taken on the occasion.
