BCB President's Cup: Mahmudullah-XI beat Tamim-XI by five wickets

Mahmudullah-XI beat Tamim-XI by five wickets (According to Duckworth/ Lewis Method) in the second match of the BCB President’s Cup at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Tuesday.
Tamim-XI scored 103 off 23.1 overs. In return, Mahmudullah-XI romped home in 27 overs making 106 for the loss five wickets.
Mahmudullah-XI had a shaky start as they lost their early three wickets for naught. Then Mahmudullah Riyad was bowled out by Taijul Islam for just 10 runs when Mahmudullah-XI’s score was 39 for the loss of only four wickets.
Later, Mominul Haque and wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan contributed together 38 runs for the fifth wicket stand before Mominul Haque was cleanly bowled out by Taijul Islam when Mahmudullah-XI’s total was 77 for the loss of five wickets.
After Mominul Haque’s dismissal, Nurul Hasan and Sabbir Rahman added together 29 runs in the unbroken sixth wicket stand to reach the victory spot.
Nurul Hasan remained unbeaten with 41. His 38-ball innings saw six fours and a sixer.
Mominul Haque was the other notable batsman for Mahmudullah-XI. He notched up a fine 39 from 62 balls including six fours. Mohammad Saifuddin and Taijul Islam of Tamim-XI bagged two wickets each for eight and 27 runs respectively.
Besides, left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman took one wicket only at the cost of 14 runs.
Earlier, Tanzid Hasan and Anamul Haque were the two batsmen of Tamim Iqbal-XI who made a respectable score with 27 and 25 runs respectively.
Rubel Hossain, Sumon Khan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Aminul Islam played the key role in wrecking Tamim-XI innings for a paltry total.
Rubel Hossain and Sumon Khan grabbed three wickets each giving 16 and 31 runs respectively.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Aminul Islam captured two wickets each for two and 17 runs respectively.
Rubel Hossain was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance.
