Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina talked about Rohingya crisis in a meet with Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas in New York Monday night (local time).
Mahmud Abbas and Sheikh Hasina talked at Hotel Grand Hyatt, where the world leaders are staying ahead of the 72nd session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Later, Sheikh Hasina’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters about the meeting with the Palestinian leader.
Mahmud Abbas informed Sheikh Hasina about the stance of his countrymen.
Appreciating Sheikh Hasina’s contribution for sheltering Rohingyas, the Palestinian president said that it (Rohingya crisis) is a disaster.
The whole world is hailing Sheikh Hasina for her humanitarian attitudes, said Mahmud Abbas.
Sheikh Hasina said him that everyone should possess humanitarian virtues.
Reiterating Bangladesh’s support for the Palestinian people, she said almost 7 lakhs of refugees are living in Bangladesh, under makeshift management.
Myanmar must take back their citizens, she added. She called on the international communities to mount pressure on Myanmar on Rohingya issue.
