A group of miscreants hacked a Mahila Awami League activist Halima Begum Jarina to death at Tengrartek under Galakandail union of Rupganj upzila in Narayanganj district early Saturday.
The victim Halima Begum Jarina, daughter of Rashid Patwari, was actively involved with Bangladesh Mahila Awami League.
Rupganj Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mahmudul Islam said that locals informed the police after seeing the body of Halima Begum Jarina near her house.
Later, recovering the body, police sent it to Narayanganj Victoria Hospital for autopsy, the OC added.
