Mahbubul Hoq, Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), joined as Chairman of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission on Friday.
Earlier, he was Member (Physical Science) of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission. Before that he also served as Director General of Atomic Energy Research Establishment, Savar, Dhaka.
He was the student of Dhaka Collegiate School and Dhaka College, passed SSC and HSC successively in 1975 and 1977. He has completed his graduate and post graduate degree from the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics of Dhaka University. Mr. Hoq joined in BAEC as Scientific Officer on 18th February 1985. Throughout his carrier he is working in repair and maintenance division as well as nuclear electronics division of Institute of Electronics in Atomic Energy Research Establishment, from 2011 to 2016 he was the director of that institute. His field of specialization is instrumentation. He had a lot of design and developments work in his carrier in the field of electronics.
He is working as a subject specialist in different universities including Dhaka University of Bangladesh. He is author/co-author of several publications in the national and international journals
Mahbubul Hoq was born in 2nd of January 1961 in an aristocratic Muslim family in Rajshahi. His ancestors were inhabited in village Chakla of Bera Upazila of Pabna district. His father is Mozammel Haque and mother Rini Momotaz Haque.
