SCBA protest prog: Mahbub urges Govt to free country from prevailing panic

President of Supreme Court Bar Association of (SCBA) of Bangladesh advocate Khandker Mahbub Hossain on Friday announced a week long programme in protest against abduction and murder taking place across the country including that of advocate Chandan Sarkar.
The week long programme includes hoisting of black flag on May 4, protest rally on May 5 , human chain on May 6 , protest rally on May 7 and token hunger strike on May 8, SCBA president said.
 Khandker Mahbub announced the programme addressing a press s
conference at the Bar Council auditorium on Friday. As part of the programme lawyers across the country would wear black badge from May 2 to May 8. The Bar council would hold a protest rally at 3 PM today (Saturday) in front of the Jatiya Press Club.
He said if the government fails to tackle the situation , it would have to bear the consequences. He said that it was the responsibility of the government to free the country from the prevailing panic over increasing incidents of abduction and murders taking place across the country.
He said the government has to issue directive so that members of law enforcing agencies cannot arrest any one in civil dress so that criminals do not get the scope of abduction and killing using the name of members of law enforcing agencies.
SCBA general secretary Mahbub Uddin Khokan and advocate Sanaullah Mia among others, were present at the press conference.
