The government has decided to appoint Mahbub Hassan Saleh, currently serving as Minister and Deputy Chief of mission in the Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington DC, USA, as the next ambassador of Bangladesh to Belgium.
Ambassador-designate Saleh is a career foreign service officer belonging to the 15th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (B.C.S.) foreign affairs cadre, a foreign ministry press release said here on Tuesday.
In his 24-year long distinguished diplomatic career, Saleh served in various capacities in different missions abroad. He served as deputy high commissioner in Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi and in different wings of the foreign ministry here.
Mahbub Hassan Saleh obtained his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Bangladesh, and master’s degree in Diplomacy and Trade from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, winning the award for top graduating student in 2001.
