All preparations followed by constructions of CWASA Madunaghat Water Treatment Plant under Chattogram Water Supply Improvement and Sanitation Project have been completed in the meantime and waiting for formal inauguration very shortly.
The Madunaghat plant is situation over bank of Halda River beside adjoining to Karnaphuli river in Chattogram.
The construction work of the plant begins in 2011 at a cost of Tk.1819 crores. This joint venture project is funded by World Bank, GOB and CWASA with Tk.1,444 cr, 370.37 cr and 22.54 crores respectively.
 The trial operation of the water project launched in last year and presently producing 9 crores liters water per day. About 135 kilometer transmission and distribution pipe installed for supply the water in city area s of Chattogram.
CWASA sources said treated water from Madunagha plant bringing to Kalurghat booster station through piple line where these treated water are being supplied to Mohra, Chandgaon, Bakalia, Kalamiah bazaar, Rahattarpool, Kalpalok, Khaja road, Khatungonj, DC Road, Sirajdowlla Road in the city through transmission line.
Director of the project Ariful Islam said the water project of Madunaghat was commissioned experimental basis from last November and is expected for formal inauguration by next month, sources added.
