A madrasah student was shot to death allegedly by his friend over previous enmity in Akua Chowrongi More area of the district town on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Tauhidul Islam Taru, son of Sirajul Islam, a resident of the area.
Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station Qamrul Islam said Taru’s friend Sefayet Ullah Bin Nasir, son of Dr Nasir Uddin, a resident of the same area, had called him out of the house at about 10:30pm. At one stage, Sefayet opened fire at Taru, leaving him dead on the spot. Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
