bdnews24.com :Jamia Yunusia Madrasa in Brahmanbarhia has denied involvement of its students in the rampage unleashed in the town following the death of a student in a clash with police.Principal of the institution Mufti Mobarak Ullah denied the allegations at a press conference held at the madrasa on Friday. “They were not madrasa students; miscreants unleashed attacks in the name of madrasa students,” he said.But the principal lamented the attacks on different establishments including the district general hospital, a railway station, and a music institution founded after music maestro Ustad Alauddin Khan.He demanded a judicial probe into the incident and urged the relevant authorities to take actions against those responsible for it. Mobarak Ullah urged all to uphold Brahmanbarhia’s heritage of communal harmony.Madrasa students went on the rampage on Tuesday after the death of Hafez Masudur Rahman, 20, who was injured in a clash with law enforcers the day before.About the death, Mobarak Ullah said police had raided Madani hostel of the madrasa on its third floor at around 11pm on Monday. “They shot at him with rifle and threw him down from the floor,” he said.Rahman was given first aid at a nearby house and then shifted to Brahmanbarhia General Hospital where doctors declared him dead, the principal said.
