A madrasa student went missing while swimming at Bholaganj, a tourist attraction in Companyganj Upazila of Sylhet famous for abundance of white stone, on Friday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Hafizur Rahman, 17, son of Harunur Rashid of Kamrangir Char in Dhaka, and a 10th-grade student of Markajul Quran Asrabad Madrasa.
144 madrasa students were going to Bholaganj, a border area in Sylhet famous for abundance of white stone, from Kamrangir Char in Dhaka.
Hafizur went missing around 4:00 pm when the students were swimming at the tourist spot. The boy could not be found despite hours of search.
Confirming the information, officer-in-charge of Companyganj Police Station Tajul Islam said they too are looking for the missing boy.
