Madrasa student chopped to death in Morrelganj

Alamin Shaikh (18), an Alim (SSC level) examinee of Chalitabunia Olamaganj NU Senior Madrasa and son of one Abul Hossain Shaikh of village Chalitabunia within Khawlia Union under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district was brutally chopped to death by his neghbour Abul Kazi’s son Jewel Kazi (22) on Saturday at night, according to a report received here.
On Sunday in the morning police of Morrelganj PS recovered the dead body and sent it to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for its autopsy. After the incident Killer Jewel has been absconding. But police arrested the mother and sister of Jewel.
It is learnt from the locals and the police that there had been prevailing an enmity between the 2 families of the deceased and the killer over land properties for long. Alamin Shaikh was a resident student of the Madrasa. At the night he was returning to the Madrasa from his residence and when he reached the middle point of his way killer Jewel who was in ambush earlier attacked him (Alamin) all on a sudden and chopped him repeatedly with a sharp knife. As a result, Alamin was fatally injured. On hearinf his gtoaning his mother and 2 brothers rushed to the spot, recovered him from there and admitted him to Morrelganj Upazila Health Complex where he succumbed to his injuries at 10-30 pm. In this connection Aklima Begum, mother of Alamin registered a murder case with the local PS against 5 including Kazi Jewel. Police arrested Jewel’s mother Kohinur Begum (55) and sister Laboni (15) from Cholombaria bus stand while they were trying to flee away.
