Ace weightlifter Mabia Akhter Simanta has set a new record by lifting 80kg (snatch) which is highest for her and Bangladesh. She clinched three silver medals in the weightlifting championship of Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday (Dec 11). “I lifted 80kg in snatch, which is the highest for me till date,” said an ecstatic Mabia. Besides, she lifted 100kg in the clean and jerk category. In 2016, Mabia achieved first gold medal for Bangladesh in South Asian Games.
