Low voter turnout in most centers in DNCC and DSCC polls

Staff Reporter:Low voters turnout have been seen in almost every polling centers in Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation polls today.
Our correspondents have visited Manarat Dhaka International School and College polling center, Kalachadpur school centers, Sher-E-Bangla School and College centers, Ideal School and College centers and other polling centers in DNCC.
They also visited, Udayan School and College center, Dhaka College center and other centers in DSCC areas.
Correspondents have found that very low voters presence in every polling centers both of the DNCC and DSCC areas.

Female voters are found more comparatively with male voters.
Eighty votes, out of 2354, were cast at Buet polling centre around 12pm, said Presiding Officer Bashudeb.
Our correspondents however found the premises of the centre empty at the time (12pm).
Abdul Motaleb, Presiding Officer at the Dhaka University Laboratory School polling centre said that only three voters were franchised their votes till 9:40am, nearly two hours after voting began.

In the Institute of Glass and Ceramic polling centers in Tejgaon, there are 2400 voters. But a total 50 vote have been casted within an hour after the starting the vote there.
Journalists said there were not more than 15 to 20 vote casted in an hour in many centers in Dhanmondi and other areas.
They also have found that there were no BNP polling agents in almost all polling centers.
There was no polling agents camps also found in outside of polling centers which is traditionally supposed to be.
Besides, numbers of ruling Awami League’s polling agents were found in every centers. The ruling party men’s camps also found in numbers in every polling centers.
BNP senior leaders also have not found in any polling center visited our correspondents.
Besides, old aged voters are found suffering from mismatched of their National Identity numbers with the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM).
Many old aged voters failed to franchise their vote through EVM. Then the polling officials help them to cast their votes.
