The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No 3 as squally weather may affect the North Bay and adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh along with the ports.
A monsoon low has formed over the North Bay and adjoining Bangladesh-West Bengal coast, said a Met office warning message.
Under the influence of the low, steep pressure gradient lies over the North Bay, it said.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
