Low-lying areas went under water in Ctg again

The rain started again in Chittagong and adjoining districts including Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Banda-rban and Khagrachari from early morning Friday. The gusty wind is also blowing with the rain in Chittagong.
The Bay of Bengal is still rough due to depression. The depression is created over South-South East Bay. The intensified depression and squally weather may affect the maritime ports and the coastal regions of Bangladesh.
According to the local metrological department, the first cyclonic depression of the season in the Bay over south-south east Bay and adjoining area moved slightly north-eastward over the same area and it is likely to intensify further and move in a northeasterly direction.
The depression is heading towards Bangladesh and might make landfall on country’s southern coast within the next 24 hours.
 The maximum low lying areas of the port city Chittagong went into knee deep water during the day long raining. The Bay of Bengal is now very rough due to heavy monsoon rain started from Friday night.
The low-lying areas of the port city including Chaktai, Khatoongonj, Asad Gonj, Agrabad, Bakalia, Chandgaon, Bahadderhat, Chawk Bazar, Badurtala, Nasirabad, Halishahar, Patenga, Kattali, and other areas have gone under knee-deep water following the torrential rains for several hours. So the inhabitants of those low-lying areas remained stranded for inundation. The high tidal water entered in the city from early yesterday left the lowing lying areas go under water causes plying of vehicles and pedestrians movement.
