Md. Atikur Rahman :
Eid means holiday, Eid means joy. This is the time to enjoy the festival with the family during the Eid holidays. However, even in the Eid festival, some people do not have leisure in their life, not even a holiday. You have to be active in fulfilling your professional responsibilities. Family, friends and acquaintances are all busy sharing the happiness of Eid. Some people are above the joy of the festival with the burden of responsibility for professional reasons. They have to perform their duties from the workplace even on the day of Eid.
Most of the government and non-government institutions are closed during Eid. However, the type of responsibility of some organizations is such that they do not stop working even for a moment throughout the year. Despite the Eid holidays, city cleaners, police, fire service personnel, prison officials, 24-hour media, hospitals, transport workers, private security personnel employed in various organizations have to work on different days. There is nothing different in their life to say Eid.
While some of the police members can go to the village on Eid holidays, many will also be at work on Eid days. They will work day and night to make the joy of Eid uninterrupted for the common people. Many people will go home to the village by locking their house or office. Members of the law enforcement will be on guard to provide security throughout the city to keep everything safe. Security personnel of homes and various government and private offices will also perform the same duty. They do not have a holiday on Eid.
Doctors and nurses will be on duty at the hospital on the day of Eid to serve the dying and emergency patients. The patients and the staff of the hospital spend their time on Eid most pitifully. As many go on vacation, those in charge work twice as hard to cope with the extra stress. Similarly, many journalists of electronic and online media try to fulfill their responsibilities by omitting their Eid joy. On the TV screen, others provide Eid joy. However, the reality is that it is very difficult to stay away from family during the joy of Eid.
There is no such thing as Eid for the doctors engaged in the service of humanity. It is very easy to understand by looking at any hospital. Although the number of patients is less at this time, there is no way to stop the treatment of dying patients. So doctors, nurses and concerned officials do not get Eid leave. Apart from this, the disease does not stop on the occasion of Eid holidays. During the Eid holidays, hospitals have to be kept open for people, for life.
Eid means a huge responsibility of the law enforcement agencies. Leave matches very few members. Even if it matches, it is not more than one or two days. There is no opportunity for vacation. When everyone is performing Eid prayers in a row, they still have to carry out their duties with guns or sticks. The traffic police are seen performing their duties on Eid days, ignoring the rain and sun. Road buses, trucks, rickshaws are like family members.
Every human being cries for his family. But they like to think that they are giving their safety to the happiness of the people. Basically, one’s own happiness is lost in the midst of other people’s happiness, the face of family and loved ones floats in them. There was humble respect for the people who were deprived of the joy of Eid.
Also, the TT of the train, the driver of the car, the launch Sareng may not even come to mind. What Eid, what worship! Rarely do they have the opportunity to share their Eid joy with family.
Drivers, conductors, helpers have no leave. Even on the day of Eid, they walk tirelessly. There is no precedent of stopping cars during Eid holidays in the country. Some of those who drive in turn enjoy the Eid holiday partially, but for many, it does not bring happiness. Roads, cars, passengers become our Eid joy. Many of those who work in the 24-hour online news portal, radio-television, have to perform their duties during Eid. Journalists of these two mediums and other necessary crews have to be in charge. There is no break for these media workers except for weekly off days. However, the media houses have to make many news covers and programs about the Eid festival. They think this is part of the joy of Eid. But very few people have the good fortune to spend time with family, friends and relatives. Besides, the imams or muezzins of the mosques rarely get Eid leave. In most cases, their family members live far away. Eid has a lot of responsibility on them. Teaching Eid prayers, participating in religious ceremonies etc. There is no chance of not fulfilling the responsibility in any way.
Finally, humble respect and love to the people who are deprived of the joy of Eid while performing their duties. This is the expectation that the government and wealthy class will come forward during this Eid-ul-Azha to extend a helping hand to the poor and flood affected peoples.
