North South University student Emon Rahman had a conflict with Rashedul Islam Rasu over love affair. Because of this, RAB’s preliminary investigation revealed that Rasu and the other accused had premeditatedly killed Iman and later dumped the body in the Turag River.
Captain of RAB-1 Lt. Colonel Abdullah Al Momen said this in a press briefing in the capital’s Karwan Bazar RAB’s media center on Wednesday.
He said that Rashedul Islam alias Rasu, the mastermind behind the murder, who was hiding in the Abadpur village of Tangail’s Delduar police station, and his accomplice Vipul Chandra Barman were arrested from Kalampur area of Kaliakair police station of Gazipur district on Wednesday morning.
Later, one knife used in the murder was recovered from under the bed of the bedroom of Rasu’s house and one cell phone from Vipul Chandra Barman house.
According to RAB officials, accused are also involved with simultaneous purchase and consumption of since 2/3 years ago. Although they were friends, there were differences with Emon on various issues.
Abdullah Al Momen said, recently there was a lot of anger between Emon and Rasu over love issues. Rasu decided to kill Eamon along with his 4 accomplices when it goes to extremes.
