UNB, Dhaka :
The Supreme Court on Sunday stayed for four weeks the operation of the High Court order that had granted bail to Fahima Islam Lopa in connection with the killing of Riazul Huq Khan Milky, a Dhaka City Jubo League leader.
Chamber Court of Justice Hasan Fayez Siddique passed the order, following a petition filed by Attorney General Mahbubey Alam.
On February 9, the HC granted bail for six months to Lopa, wife of Milky’s
driver. Milky, organizing secretary of Dhaka City (South) Jubo League, was gunned down, allegedly by his close associate HM Zahid Siddique alias Tarek in front of Shoppers World at Gulshan in the city in the wee hours of July 30 last year.
Hours after Milky’s killing, Rab arrested prime killer-suspect Tarek from a hospital at Uttara. Meanwhile, Tarek and his cohort Shah Alam were killed in a ‘shootout’ with Rab on August 1 last year.
