Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan, Director-in-Charge of Mohammedan Sporting Club, was yesterday sent to the jail after the third phase of remand in the case filed against him for keeping drugs at his residence.
Dhaka’s Metropolitan Magistrate Habibur Rahman Chowdhury passed the order after hearing on Sunday.
Earlier, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Tejgaon Police Station Sub-Inspector Muhammad Kamrul Islam produced the accused in the court after the remand.
In the prayer, the IO said Lokman provided important information about the incident which was being verified. The accused needs to be kept in jail. Otherwise, if he gets bail then there is a possibility that he would attempt to go into hiding.
On September 25, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Lokman Hossain, a Director of Bangladesh Cricket Board, from his Monipuripara residence with four bottles of liquor.
