The logo of the AB Bank Bangladesh Open 2018, an Asian Tour approved Professional Golf tournament of the country, was formally unveiled at the Kurmitola Golf Club, on Saturday.
The tournament will be held at the Kurmitola Golf Club from May 9-12 here. The workshop for the journalists was also held after the logo unveiling ceremony. Host Bangladesh will directly participate in the main round of the tournament with 35 rising golfers and six professional golfers being as a host country which is a big achievement for the country.
The 65 years old Kurmitola Golf Club, has been a regular venue for Bangladesh to host the Asian Tour and the Asian Development Tour. AB Bank Limited, the main sponsor of the tournament, will enter its first foray into professional golf by supporting the country’s National Open by offering prize money of US$300,000, to give an opportunity to local golfers to follow the footsteps of Bangladesh celebrated golfer Siddikur Rahman, who is a two-time Asian Tour winner. The 4the edition of the country’ professional golf tournament will be welcomed by many celebrated golfers from Asia, Europe, America and Africa including worthy champions since its inaugural edition in 2015.

M Abdul Bari and officials of golf federation and AB Bank Limited were present on the occasion.
