Local IT experts sit for 1st official ITEE to get global recognition

Nearly 200 local IT professionals and students Sunday sat for first ever international standardized Information Technology Engineers Examination (ITEE) here to get a global recognition of their IT skills.
Bangladesh took the first ever official ITEE after getting membership from Information Technology Professional Examination Council (ITPEC) on September last that gives authority to the country to hold ITEE here officially simultaneously with other ITPEC member countries every year. Other member countries are: Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
The examination was held at Dhaka University (DU), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), Rajshahi University and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) simultaneously.
In Japan, ITEE is basically a national standardized examination for IT professionals where five to six lakh IT students and IT professionals attended every year.
Bangladesh IT-engineers Examination Center (BD-ITEC) under Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministry introduced the examination in the country under a project titled Capacity Building on ITEE Management with the help of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Education Secretary N I Khan, Project Director of Capacity Building on ITEE Management Project Dr. Sk Amzad Hossain and Chief Advisor of JICA-ITEE Project Hideo Hoya observed and monitored the examination.
