Local airlines have decorated their buckets with varieties of offers including discount for tickets and bank EMI to bag more holiday makers for in-and-out-bound destinations.
The 14th edition of Dhaka Travel Mart (DTM) that began on Tuesday has created a podium for the airlines and travel agencies to book holiday makers under varieties of packages and facilities.
At the three-day DTM, national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines has offered 20 percent discount on six international routes to boost tourism.
Biman General Manager (PR) and spokesperson Shakil Meraj said the national carrier is delighted to offer 20 percent discount in economy class on six international routes as part its effort to provide convenient services to the travelers, especially holiday makers.
“We’ve made this offer for the new travelers to promote in-and-out-bound tourism as well as increase customer base,” he added.
Meraj said the six routes are -Dhaka-Bangkok-Dhaka, Dhaka-Singapore-Dhaka, Dhaka-Yangon-Dhaka, Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur-Dhaka, Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka and Dhaka-Kathmandu-Dhaka.
After the 20 percent off, the return fare on Dhaka-Bangkok-Dhaka route will stand at BDT 21,854 while Dhaka-Singapore-Dhaka at BDT 35,550, Dhaka-Yangon-Dhaka at 22,469, Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur-Dhaka at BDT 25,542, Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka at BDT 11,694 and Dhaka-Kathmandu-Dhaka at BDT 15,235.
Mentioning that the above fares are in net saleable from the DTM stall, the Biman spokesperson said: “The outbound journey must commence within 180 days from the date of buying the ticket.”
Besides, Biman is offering 7 percent discount on market fares on other routes during the DTM, he added. Moreover, there will be chance to win Biman ticket everyday through raffle draw against gate entry ticket.
Besides, private carrier NOVOAIR has offered holiday packages for local and international destinations with bank EMI facilities.
The package for Kolkata has started at BDT 2,777 and Cox’s Bazar at BDT 1,999 for per person on EMI facilities in the DTM.
In addition, NOVOAIR is also offering 15 percent discount on fare on its all routes during the event.
Passengers will enjoy Kolkata package that includes air fare, 2 nights and 3 days stay in Hotel Hindusthan International and pick and drop from airport to hotel.
Besides, passengers in Cox’s Bazar tour will get similar offer. Sayman Beach Resort, Ocean Paradise, Hotel The cox today, Windy Terrace, Best Western plus Heritage, Praasad paradise and Neeshorgo Hotel & Resort are available in this package.
On the other hand, the title sponsor of the DTM US-BANGLA Airlines has offered 15 percent discount on fare on its all international and domestic routes during the event, said its Deputy General Manager Kamrul Islam.
Moreover, visitors at the DTM have the chance to win tickets on international and domestic routes by participating selfie contest and raffle draw among others, he added.
About 50 organizations from different countries, including host Bangladesh, are taking part in the DTM. They include National Tourism Organizations (NTOs), airlines, tour Operators, hotels, resorts, online booking portals and healthcare service providers, among others.
Visitors will be able to go around the fair from 10 am to 8 pm till April 1, paying an entry fee of Taka 30.
