Court Correspondent :
The First Money Loan Court (Ortho Rin Adalat) of Dhaka yesterday (Monday) deferred the hearing on framing of issue in a case filed against 11 persons including BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman
and his younger brother Arafat Rahman Koko for defaulting a loan payment of Sonali Bank Limited to January 11.
Judge-in-Charge of the court Fatema Ferdous also directed the defendants to submit the concerned order of the High Court on the day.
Earlier, on September 25, the same court deferred the hearing to October 27 and asked the defendants to submit a corrected order of the apex court on the same day.
It may be remembered that the court so far set 12 dates to frame the issues of the case. On October 2, 2012, Sonali Bank filed the case against the defendants after their company, the Dandy Dyeing Limited failed to pay off the principal loan with interest, accumulated over 12 years to Tk 45.49 crore.
The company had borrowed Tk 12.16 crore from the bank’s principal branch in the capital on October 16, 2001, says the case statement.
