CHITTAGONG: The loading and unloading of goods at the outer anchorage of Chittagong sea port halted Sunday due to heavy downpour on Saturday morning.
Radio Control Room of Port sources said that four ships were scheduled to anchor and two other ships could not leave the port due to the rough weather.
Water Transport Co-ordination Cell Executive Director Biwajit Chowdhury told banglanews, “The movements of lighterage ship remained halted completely.”
Two ships were scheduled to go to outer anchorage from jetty and anchor jetty from outer anchorage. But none could leave for respective destination.
Following the rough weather hundreds of goods laden ships remained stranded in various channels and Karnaphuli River Ghat.
