Load-shedding hits Boro paddy farming on 300 acres in Gafargaon

 Boro paddy cultivation on about 300 acres of land is being affected due to loadsheeding and low voltage of electricity for the last 20 days at Gafargaon.
As a result,2500 farmers are passing their days in panic to face the loss. Three months ago a transformer of 5mb was installed to supply electricity for irrigation relentlessly but it went out of order for the neglegience of the officer of electricity office, it is alleged. .Md,Hanifa, a farmer of Saltia Union,Jalal Uddin of Joshora,Abdul Matin Master of Rawna,Shamsuddin,Asrab Ali of Molmol village,Kabir Hossain of Barabaria,Nabi Hossain of Gafargaon union said,we have been getting electricity for three hours within 24 hours for the last 20 days.
We cannot run irrigation machines for low voltage. So we can not supply irrigation properly.In a body we complained it in office but the officers are indifferent to this matter. Asrab Ali,Molmol village said, on last Wednesday we went to the office but Tanvir Zahir, an officer told us to get out .
Farmers expect the local MP.Fahami Golandaz Babel will take step to supply electricity for irrigation. Assistant Engineer Tanvir Ahmmed, Upazila Electricity Distribution and Sale Department said, electricity is less than demand.Our demand is 13MW,we get 8 MW.
