State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda has said substantial and sustainable expansion and promotion of livestock could be the vital means of attaining sustainable development.
He said rearing of cattle, goat and poultry birds can play significant role towards making the grassroots poor people self-reliant. All government and non-government organizations concerned should work together to this end.
He was addressing a discussion on furthermore expansion of livestock at Molladaying area under Paba Upazila of the district yesterday as the chief guest.
Heifer International Bangladesh (HIB) organized the discussion, discussing ways and means on how to make the grassroots people habituated with livestock farming and rearing.
