The Livestock Exhibition was inaugurated at Ishwardi under the slogan ‘Animal Resources Exhibition, Nutrition, Intellectual Poverty Alleviation’. Municipal Mayor Isaac Ali Malitha inaugurated the exhibition at Sheikh Russell Stadium on Wednesday. UNO PM Imrul Kayes presided over the function.
Special guests were Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Abdus Salam Khan, Atia Ferdous Kakli, Upazila Agriculture Officer Mita Sarkar, Bir Muktijoddha Abdul Khaleq and Councilor Abu Zahid.
Welcoming remarks were made by Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Nazmul Hossain. Conducted by Dr. Rakibul Islam, Livestock Extension Officer. journalists, well-wishers and hundreds of farmers were present on the occasion. Stalls of cows, buffaloes, goats, poultry, animal feed, veterinary medicines are opened in the exhibition.
It may be mentioned that 6 farmers of Ishwardi have received National Bangabandhu Agriculture Medal in the livestock category.
Sarishabari (Jamalpur) Correspondent reports: The Livestock Exhibition was organised by Livestock Department in collaboration with the Livestock and Dairy Development Project at Sarishabari Honours College ground in Jamalpur on Wednesday.
Livestock farmers from different areas of Sarishabari showcased deferent breeds of animals including improved breeds of cows, goats, sheep, horses and pigeons at the fair.
At this time, in the presidency of Assistant Commissioner (Land) Faizul Wasima Nahat, Sarishabari Municipal Mayor Monir Uddin, District Livestock officer Dr Mohammad Shahidul Islam,, Sarishabari Agriculture Officer Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun, and principal of Sarishabari Honours College Sarwar Jahan spoke on function.
Hossainpur (Kishoreganj) Correspondent adds: The Upazila Livestock Exhibition was inaugurated at Hossainpur in Kishoreganj in collaboration with the Livestock and Dairy Development Project (LDDP) Livestock Department with the aim of eradicating unemployment at Hossainpur Upazila premises on Wednesday noon.
Hossainpur UNO Rabeya Parvez presided over the function and Upazila Chairman Mohammad Sohel was present as the special guest. Speaking as the special guest, Upazila Parishad Chairman Mohammad Sohel said the country is moving forward today under the successful leadership of Prime Minister Deshratna Sheikh Hasina. Unemployment can be eliminated by keeping cows and bulls to take the country forward. Those who are unemployed move around. Come forward. You can achieve success by keeping animals and birds.
He further said that it is possible to meet the demand of the country by exporting milk and meat by keeping animals and exporting it abroad.
Acting President of Hossainpur Upazila Awami League Zahirul Islam Nuru Mia, General Secretary of Upazila Awami League Shah Mahbubur Rahman, Upazila Mahila Vice Chairman Roushnara, newly elected Chairman of Sidla Union Kamruzzaman Kanchan, Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan, Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid , Md. Imrul Kayes, and Dr. Md. Lutfar Rahman (veterinary surgeon) were present on the occasion. .
Speaking on behalf of the farmers, Shafiur Rahman Bachchu said that due to lack of milk cold storage in the upazila, a lot of money is lost every year. Therefore, he strongly demanded the establishment of a milk cold storage in the upazila. A total of 41 stalls participated in the day-long exhibition. At this time different types of domestic and foreign birds, bulls, cows, cows, buffaloes, goats and sheep are displayed.
