Wicketkeeper Liton Das scored his maiden Test fifty against visiting South Africa on the third day of the first Test at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium Thursday.
He reached his maiden half century playing 101 balls, with seven beautiful boundaries.
The Tigers’ wicketkeeper batsman went when he was surprised by Simon Harmer’s extra bounce and took an inside edge on to the pad for a catch to wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock.
Twenty-year-old Liton Das, who hailed from Dinajpur, debuted against India in his only Test match held last month. Apart from National team the wicketkeeper represented Bangladesh Under-15s, Bangladesh Under-19s, Bangladesh Under-23s, Dhaka Gladiators, East Zone (Bangladesh), North Zone (Bangladesh) and Rangpur Division.
