Liton Das hits 4th ODI ton

Opener Liton Das of Bangladesh hit his 4th century in One Day International (ODI) cricket on Thursday. Liton notched up a superb 102 against Zimbabwe in the first ODI at Harare Sports Club Ground in Zimbabwe on Friday. He hit eight fours in his 114-ball sparkle innings. Liton reached his 4th 100-run landmark using 110 deliveries with eight fours. He scored his half-century playing 78 balls with three fours. Liton played the key role for Bangladesh to pile up a fighting total against Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh lost their first wicket for naught as opener Tamim Iqbal (0) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Regis Chakabva off Blressing Muzarabani when Bangladesh’s score was zero. Then Liton Das and Shakib Al Hasan added 32 runs in the second wicket stand before Shakib (19) was caught at the cover by Ryan Burl off Muzarabani when Bangladesh’s score was 32.
Later, Liton and Mahmudullah Riyad made a worthy partnership. They put on together 93 runs for the fifth wicket partnership before Riyad was caught by Chakabva off Luke Jongwe when the tourists’ total was 167 for the loss of five wickets.
After Riyad’s dismissal, Liton and Afif Hossain contributed 40 runs in the six-wicket stand before Liton was caught at the square by substitute Wellington Masakadza off Richard Ngarava when Bangladesh’s score was 207 for the loss of six wickets and the touring side lost a big wicket.
The right-arm opener played 45 ODI matches. He scored 1282 runs. His highest score is 176 runs. The 26-year-old batsman made his ODI debut on June 18, 2015 against India at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur.
