M Mizanur Rahman is basically an eminent poet of Bangladesh. He is myriad-minded genius. He is a story-teller, essayist, translator, and columnist. In various Bengali and English dailies, periodicals, and magazines of Bangladesh he writes articles, poems, book-reviews and columns. His translated works on great Folk-Maestro and poet Lalon Shah (1774-1890) ‘Myriad Miracle: Lalon Song’ and of the great modern mystic poet and lyricist Sabir Ahmed Choudhury’s ‘Mystic Bard: Songs of Sabir Ahmed Choudhury’ respectively have already drawn the earnest attention of the intelligentsia at home and abroad. On the bilingual anthology of poems, “Hareen Dupur / The Blazing Sun (1982)- the first of its kind in Bangladesh of M Mizanur Rahman, Dr Anwarul Karim (an eminent Lalon Researcher, scholar, and educationist) made a comment, “M. Mizanur Rahman is essentially a romantic poet. His is sensitive soul. His poetry is a voice of the suffering humanity.”
M. Mizanur Rahman authors the following books and edited the others :

 M. Mizanur Rahman was born on 15th October, 1934 in a very respectable family at Santipur in the district of Nadia (British India). After the partition of India in 1947 his family migrated to East Pakistan (Now Bangladesh) and settled at Jessore Town. His father M. Meher Ali was a renowned cloth merchant and a noted political leader of the area and mother Mosammat Johura Khatoon was a learned woman of the day.
M. Mizanur Rahman did his graduation and studied Law under the Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. He served the Royal Pakistan Air Force for sometimes (1952-56). Later he joined Government Service in the then East Pakistan and got retirement in 1991 as the Principal of Bangladesh Fire Service & Civil Defense Training Complex, Mirpur, Dhaka.
M. Mizanur Rahman got some awards in recognition of his outstanding performances in social, cultural and literary activities as follows:-
1. Bhairab Sahitya Sanskritic Chakra, Meherpur in its 26th Establishment Day-2002 presented Rajat Jayanti Crest in its celebration.
2. Bangladesh Rapport Company Limited awarded ‘Fourth Rapport Company Award-2003 for Excellence in Human Resource Development with valued crest and citation.
3. The Muslim Sahitya Samaj, Dhaka awarded, “Kobi Kazi Nazrul Islam Padak O Sammanona-2009 in recognition of outstanding contribution to Poetry, Essay, Translation, Journalism and literary works.
4. Nazrul Centre for National Culture Padak-2016 was awarded on 27.8. 2016.
5. In celebration of 118th Birth Anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam, the National Poet of Bangladesh on 25th May 2017 a valued Crest in honour was awarded by Nazrul Academy, Dhaka for outstanding performance to M. Mizanur Rahman, the Editor, Nazrul Academy Gobesona Potrika (Research Journal) in a befitting cultural function at the Dhaka Silpokala Academy, Performing Art (Dance) & Culture auditorium. n
