Litchi growers in Sonargaon Upazila has informed that although the yield of litchi is good, it is becoming infested due to sudden rains.
In this way, both the litchi grower and the trader have to count the huge loss.
Talking to Asanullah, a litchi trader from Sonargaon, he said he used to buy and sale litchi orchards every year. The profit was better. Like every year, this year he bought a litchi garden for Tk 2.10 lakh .
Due to the sudden thunderstorm, insects were seen inside the litchi. If you can’t make litchis in 2/3 days, then it will be ruined. He have to sit on my way. He was unable to find workers to get litchi from the trees because of the rain.
