UNB, Sirajganj :
Police recovered the body of a listed criminal from Konagati area on the Jamuna Bridge Bypass Road in Sadar upazila early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Joban Ali, 35, a listed criminal and one of the accused in local Awami League leader Saiful murder case and son of late Azizur Rahman of Bawaitara village in Sadar upazila.
Habibul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said a patrol team of police spotted the bullet-hit body of Joban Ali in a field in the area around 1:45am.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Sirajganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The reason behind the murder could not be known immediately.
Meanwhile, family members of the deceased claimed that Joban Ali was arrested by police on Wednesday afternoon.
