A farmer was killed by lightning at west Baltoil in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur district on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Md Abdur Rouf (47) son of late Nur Muhammad at west Baltoil in Jhenaigati of the district.
Villagers and sources said it was drizzling at about 4pm and Abdur Rouf was preparing food for his cows at his cowshed. Suddenly thunderbolt hit him and he wounded seriously. He died on the way to Sherpur Sadar Hospital.
Officer in charge of Jhenaigati thana Md Mizanur Rahman confirmed about it.
