Two people were killed and another person was injured in a lightning strike at Deluabari Bazar in Manda upazila on Wednesday.
Officer-in-charge of Manda Police Station M Anisur Rahman said a thunderbolt struck the trio around 12 noon when a group of people took shelter in a shade in the bazaar.
The lightning strike killed Shamsul Alam, 45, of Kirtali village on the spot and Altaf Hossain of Dodangi village in the upazila and Abul Kashem injured.
The injured were taken to Manda health complex where Altaf died.
