A lighter ship carrying cement clinker sank in the River Meghna on Tuesday morning. The ship MV Chitalmari sank in Harishava area at around 6.00am after it was hit by an oil-loaded vessel MV Hekmat. All the 12 crew of the capsized ship returned safe to the shore with the help of locals. Members of Coast Guard and Fire Survive Department have already begun operation to rescue the ship.
