A farmer was killed by lightning and his wife was left critically injured at Vallipara village under Boda upazila of the district this morning.
The victim was identified as Solaiman, 28, son of Budhrul Mohammad of Vallipara village.
Eye witness said that the thunderbolt struck them when Solaiman and his wife Parvin were working in field in the rain. Solaiman died on the spot while his wife was later rescued critically injured.
Local people immediately took Parvin to Boda health complex for treatment.
