Light to moderate rain with squally wind likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Wednesday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary squally wind and lightning flashes may occur at different parts of the country in 24 hours as of 9 am today.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershower with temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions,” said a met office bulletin issued in the capital.
However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
“The monsoon axis runs through Bihar, West Bengal and thence northeast wards to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay,” it added.
Country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 34.9 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and Wednesday’s minimum temperature 23.0 degrees Celsius was recorded at Sitakunda.
The highest rainfall during the last 24 hours till 6am on Wednesday was recorded 120 mm at Kutubdia.
