The met office on Monday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over the country.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over northern part of the country,” said a met office press release in Dhaka on Monday.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, the press release added.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over northern part of Bangladesh and less active elsewhere over the country and weak to moderate over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded by 35.4 degree Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature on Monday was recorded by 25.0 degree Celsius at Rangamati. Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00am yesterday was recorded by 51 millimeters (mm) at Sylhet.
